Providing local communities with basic financial literacy skills. The candidates were made up of unemployed youths, students and adults. Candidates saw this opportunity as something that they expected at school as content addressed day-to-day issues such as personal goal setting. The most interesting issue was the three subjects: budgeting, goal setting and insurance. The subject of insurance was the one where they felt that it should be taken to high schools. Most candidates expressed the fact that insurance has always been regarded as a scam and a way of cheating people. It was only after going through the two types of insurance ( short- term & long- term insurance) particularly importance of life cover because this has never been a priority hence most families would have more than two funeral policies and no life cover. It became a shock to discover that young couple with two to three children when the breadwinner passes away the surviving spouse struggles because they never had life cover to ensure that the family continues living.

Good Day I am reporting what takes place during the HOLLARD street wise finance. I managed to train a number of participants and experience had so many dynamics. I had different groups which were trained, trained a group of grade 11 and 12 Learners, trained unemployed community members a group of guys who are from re-hab this was a very insightful opportunity. Many of the people which were trained enjoyed the four modules of street wise finance program. All the groups had an opportunity to learn Basic skills which will help them to manage their finance. The community recommended that the can be follow up trainings may also empower them with other life's skills for example module 2 Banking ,learned and saving many people they are not informed as we know that information changes and it is updated now and again. Older people who attended the training wished that they were trained and informed about this information which was going to save them to be able to save and maybe invest to towards retirement.

It was so nice to have opportunity to train worksite for Public works once again, for is challenging to work with people of different backgrounds because it was a mixup with manager, artisans, labour's, EPWP and they differ in level of handling their matter and lifestyle. Also how they conduct themselves on handling their daily lives and debt. Majority confessed they are deep in debt and this kind of training is appreciated and relevant because it brings back their conscious on how to conduct themselves towards good life and debts free. It good highlights on credit score because the didn't know is easy to get it from NCR and understanding between Debt counseling and Administrators hance many of them have Garnished because of lack of knowledge and information before they engage into process. It was an argument that HR manager are not advising them so they end up in hand of administration.it recommend that the training conducted more often and to other colleagues. I concur with the notion that the training should rollout to other colleagues and department, it's existing to observe how people being assisted through our training and changing their lifestyle.

It's always easy to assume that rural villages people are not capable to manage their finances but when you get to know and live with them you soon realise that it's not ignorance it's lack of knowledge, When they receive financial literacy trainings they engage with passion as they relate more in these topics and they've been willing to change and find solutions . Knowledge is always power and a game or life changer . Financial life for the participants will never be the same as they'll be applying knowledge gained in the trainings. Thank you to Sanlam and Avocado Vision for providing these trainings to unreachable villages .

SANLAM MM and MFS took place at Villiersdorp community and at the School, it was quite interesting for the school to have such training in their school, the community of Villiersdorp is busy dealing with their debts which some of them confirmed that they are no longer having debts, that shows that what we serve to our communities is more important than we think, thank you Avocado and your team.
