The community group I trained was a very dynamic interesting group . Youth that have been in tertiary through NSFAS , youth that funded their own education , drop outs , retrenched participants and early retirement participants , all the above participants have gone back to the workplace that is provided by Working For Water which is different from their previous workplace, all participants were introduced to financial literacy for the first time and their engagement was driven by past experiences. They were all willing for a good financial turn around regardless of the wage amount they're currently receiving . Boosting Income and Budget were the most favourable modules as most participants identified a business value chain amongst themselves starting from selling the wood that they've cleared to local tractors and possible continuations of clearing and then focus on other opportunities created by clearing . For these communities this is the start of sustainability and good financial relations . They've learnt from their recklessness now it's time to do better . In these villages there are structures built by government for cooperatives , participants have identified them as a start of small businesses selling different items needed by communities, when doing orders they'll do them collectively to save money and be able to buy in huge bulks. I'm looking forward to return to these communities again to complete training other groups that might also identify their means of leaving a better life . It's always encouraging to have these good outcomes after training in the most disadvantaged rural communities. The participants were relieved to findout that they don't need lawyers to draft their wills and to know that there are no items that are not regarded as better assets in the will , they're now referring to the will as Children's security after their parents and also to their wives who are mostly abused by inlaws after their husband's death.

Hi Admin and project manager of Coronation. I would like to share a story from the group of the old ladies and young people aswell as gentlemen who are owning food gardens, in text 19 Tsakane. This was a great experience to be training money fosho and the money module's in each and every moduler we trained the was positive feedback, the group liked money fosho and promised to use the budget forms and others go back to the creditors to resolve. When we did MM1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. They were so empowerd withbthis information. MM5 came and changed their thinking about so many ways of boosting income. Retirement Moduler they wished it came early and thy would have bought different products. Many participants recommended this workshop to be done at schools , house holds

I had the opportunity to go and impact the lives of workers at the Pelonomy Hospital in Bloemfontein.Even though they came with small numbers but the session was great. We dealt with budget digging deeper into it, what I noticed about them is that they new the theoritical site of budgeting, but the actual part of of doing it and applying it on their finances was lacking for some of them. Some of them stated that they need a lot of motivation and training like this one to encourage and push them in the right direction. They also planned to meet up regularly as staff members to talk about these situations and encourage each other. It was a pleasure working with them and I also learnt a lot from them

It was a priviledge to train farm dwellers community, these communities have been sidelined for a very longtime . They're now the beneficiaries of this farm they use to work in , skills development and financial literacy trainings will make a difference in how they change and handle their finances . I had more than 66 participants and no one wished to go back home because they all valued their first time financial literacy training. Enthusiasm, willingness was encouraging. In each module they connected their current situation and willing to do everything they've learned to change for the better. It was encouraging to see employers from other farms transporting their employees to the training venue , this contributed on how valuable is the training. For this community this training was the start of many opportunities to come for them .Participation was 100% and made me feel encouraged to continue with this training . Thank you to Sanlam and Avocado Vision hoping this community will receive many more trainings in future.

As facilitators we are always faced with challenges of space and assume that participants will be concerned but we get surprised when this is the least of their worry. Our participants engage with such high energy to the extend that you as a facilitator you become really touched when you see the hunger for knowledge is displayed. Some old participants wish that they could move back the hands of time, which means they wish they could have received this training at their young age.

We always make wrong assumptions about the way people place little value on training. Wait until you engage with them in a session and see the energy and enthusiasm displayed by both young, and old. It does not matter what the subject is, the participation and questions asked shows hunger for knowledge. This is mostly shown when subjects such insurance, retirement, goal- setting and budgeting is discussed. This is so because these subjects are real and practical to them. What is more moving is when they receive their certificates, to some this certificates means a huge achievement.

Sanlam Money Modular Financial Literacy 2022- The training took place different areas which is Philippi East. The trainings were organized by Pastors from different churches. It was quite amazing to see how participants engaged and asking more questions on different modules. The training room was always full because the participants were spreading what they are learning. They appreciated the to be part of this training as it transformed their lives and financial management habits. On Module 4 I also noticed that most of my participants knew nothing about the credit report. They promised that they will make sure that they will get their credit reports. I recommended "Clearscore". There were also business owners as well as community leaders who were part of the training as well. They requested that that training should spread to other communities within capeflats. I trained 6 modules per community they said they need more because such trainings are transforming their lives for a better future.

"It's always seem impossible until it is done" I was told our community are illiterate and they are not interested in any form of training. Guess what same community, same people we did the Financial Skills training. We taught them about budgeting, Scams & Fraud and teaching children about money just to mention a few. After the training the participants formed different small groups in our community and pass the information and knowledge they learnt through our trainings. Ms Letia Stallenberg, a 57 year old woman shared her training experience with the ladies from her Church and those ladies went back home and teach their Children about money at their homes! Ben Sthemba, a 46 year old man shared his experience after training with "Majita ba blomile at the street corner!! Thats what we are talking about empowering our community with financial skills and financial knowledge. Building our community 1 by 1. Thank you, Avocado Vision and Sanlam, for empowering us to lift up our communities.

A Fruitful Partnership and Social Cohesion Everytime the word social Cohesion comes to mind it reminds me of unity and Partnership that's really working. In terms of the training and development work one is involved in its always the case especially with the Partnership between Avocado Vision and the financial institutions and between Avocado Vision and the community and the organization we do training with. This is exactly what happened almost 9 months ago when we introduced the financial skills training to the Marikana youth development in Rustenburg. I have since that time been able to do training with 3 separate groups of young people with latest Partnership being with a group involved in the social development programme learnership. The group is so thankful for the opportunity to be trained and enlightened on so many issues regarding finances and money matters. What some take for granted is however appreciated in not so empowered communities. Almost 20 sessions done thus far. This is the power of financial literacy and social cohesion. Even when the training had to be moved from Ikageng in Potchefstroom Northwest to Marikana Rustenburg due to early holiday closure, the Marikana team did not disappoint as they hosted us once again. To all our partners thanks again for making a difference where it counts especially in the rural parts of our country.

Our community is always happy when we conduct more training for them because it informative and useful to their daily lives. The money module is more direct and accurate addressed challenges facing how to save money or start using information to uplift there lives adopt good manners towards knowing what you owe get out of debt. I had lady who confessed that she attended the previous training on boosting income and it opened her eyes start saving she managed to buy swaying machine and now she employed two people this Indicates how important this training is appreciated helpful to our community. I will appreciate to to have community training, money module is important because itake little time so learners are able to attend and go and do their house chores when is still time, also to up the cuitering fee food are expensive the money is not managing to give good cuitering and people are complening
