The community group I trained was a very dynamic interesting group . Youth that have been in tertiary through NSFAS , youth that funded their own education , drop outs , retrenched participants and early retirement participants , all the above participants have gone back to the workplace that is provided by Working For Water which is different from their previous workplace, all participants were introduced to financial literacy for the first time and their engagement was driven by past experiences. They were all willing for a good financial turn around regardless of the wage amount they're currently receiving . Boosting Income and Budget were the most favourable modules as most participants identified a business value chain amongst themselves starting from selling the wood that they've cleared to local tractors and possible continuations of clearing and then focus on other opportunities created by clearing . For these communities this is the start of sustainability and good financial relations . They've learnt from their recklessness now it's time to do better .
In these villages there are structures built by government for cooperatives , participants have identified them as a start of small businesses selling different items needed by communities, when doing orders they'll do them collectively to save money and be able to buy in huge bulks.
I'm looking forward to return to these communities again to complete training other groups that might also identify their means of leaving a better life . It's always encouraging to have these good outcomes after training in the most disadvantaged rural communities.
The participants were relieved to findout that they don't need lawyers to draft their wills and to know that there are no items that are not regarded as better assets in the will , they're now referring to the will as Children's security after their parents and also to their wives who are mostly abused by inlaws after their husband's death.
