Sanlam
There is nothing fulfilling like making a difference to someone's life. This is what excites me more on these Financial Literacy sessions. I did a training on Sanlam Money Modular 8-12 to a community from Reunion Park and the surroundings. The participants were all members of the Old Apostolic Church who were eager to attend the training as I had done one for another group and the word of mouth went viral as I should think the money matters were a topic in their church and the organiser of the groups kept on asking me if we will still be training more as people are begging her for this fruitful session so luckily the opportunity to train another group came through. The highlight of the session was the part where one of the older ladies shared her painful experience of loosing everything she had because of lack of knowledge of the preparation of buying the big ticket items. I took more time explaining and giving information on this topic as I thought that whoever was present should not fall into that trap and moreover will share the information with others so that the society make informed decisions. The lady's story brought life to the discussion as we spoke about things that are happening to most people when they fail to pay for their cars and mortgage bonds and the consequences thereafter. I strongly believe that all participants will adhere to the tips shared in the session and their big ticket items will not be a burden but instead a life changer. The elders of the church were also present and they asked me if they can invite me to do more such sessions with all the members of their church as they felt this information is much needed by all members.
