Providing local communities with basic financial literacy skills. The candidates were made up of unemployed youths, students and adults. Candidates saw this opportunity as something that they expected at school as content addressed day-to-day issues such as personal goal setting. The most interesting issue was the three subjects: budgeting, goal setting and insurance. The subject of insurance was the one where they felt that it should be taken to high schools. Most candidates expressed the fact that insurance has always been regarded as a scam and a way of cheating people. It was only after going through the two types of insurance ( short- term & long- term insurance) particularly importance of life cover because this has never been a priority hence most families would have more than two funeral policies and no life cover. It became a shock to discover that young couple with two to three children when the breadwinner passes away the surviving spouse struggles because they never had life cover to ensure that the family continues living.
