In the month of August I've been training Imvelo Yethu in remote schools of Mount Frere where the nature is amazing but is in a bad state because of negligence caused by the communities because of lack of knowledge on how precious are the natural resources and that they can live a better life if they can start recognizing themselves as part of the Ecosystem . In all the schools the students have shown an interest and at the end of each training they took a decision of making a change which some of the schools have already taken an action towards their decisions
Some have met with their Chiefs and Headman to express how they feel about watching elderly people destroying the nature and have urged them to work with them to save Mother Earth .In some schools the Headmen did attend the trainings and they were part of decision making and they've identified their points of departure in changing the situation.
With all the schools I've trained we've decided to have an INDZALO YAMABHACA competition meaning the Nature for Amabhaca Tribe which will be our biggest environmental awareness campaign on different topics in the Imvelo Yethu facilitator's guide , we've not yet set the date as we're still seeking the donations for prizes , we also hope this will continue in the next years to come .We will host our UMFULONGATSHI WATER WEEK meaning the rivers will never dry up again where we will be cleaning the streams and testing water and we've invited the Umzimvubu municipality Mayor , all councillors and DEF as we hope to work with them in future as we start this journey to save INDZALO YAMABHACA ( Amabhaca Nature ).
This training had a huge impact on the communities and students and we hope to see the change in the future which we will be proud of .
