In March, I conducted trainings in Ward 15,KSD Local Municipality area. On my 1st day in the ward, I was training in Baziya Clinic. As I arrived in the area, I noticed that theres is a very good infrastructure on site, as we started the session, participants started opening up that on that site there were a lot of projects running. Backery was fully operational with equipment, also there's sewing and poultry projects and all of them closed down because they ate the money as they were never equipped with financial skills and business mentoring. Now, they calling me all the time asking if they can be assisted further so they can start as they have the whole infrastructure in place. In the same ward, the ward councilor and the Chiefs in the area have given me lists with more than 200 participants whom they want them to also be trained on financial literacy as they say the numbers i did were just a drop in the ocean because they see that this training willl help resuscitate most of many failed projects in the Baziya/Ward 15 area.
It's been a pleasure to deliver Hollard financial literacy trainings to the community of Mzongwana in the outskirts of Drakensburg mountains where people have been given an opportunity to work for Working For Water EPWP programme , these people are struggling with finances , banking for them is the privilege for wealthy people but after these trainings the wheel has turned for the better for them . The first group trained had savings bank accounts opened for them to earn their salaries but after the training while there the bank consultants were organized to come again and assist with transaction accounts and all thengrouos eventually opened the bank accounts for their needs , they were also interested in insurances and services rendered by Hollard , their inquiries were forwarded to the relevant people , this showed that they've taken their financial issues into consideration they're acting upon them . Big up to all the teams of Mzongwana you showed much interest in the trainings and you have changed your financial situations for the better.
After training learner's enjoying the meal we had good and activate participation of youth all of them are unemployed. It was interesting to see how they acknowledge the training to be of good help.
The same request was made by the participants to offer booklets for reference purposes. Also excited to learn how to manage their credit and the importance of spending less than what they earn in order to save for rainy days.
